Has anyone used Ritalin for boost in mood and motivation? My doctor has not prescribed it nor am I considering it...for now. I was reading about use of Ritalin in elderly patients because it was just prescribed for my elderly father. I do see studies of success in Parkinson's patients because it boosts dopamine, and I am also aware of negative side effects. Again I am just curious as my most troubling symptoms, besides tremor, is fatigue and lack of motivation. As a side, I'm currently on no meds., but have tried most SSRI's, SNRI's, tricyclics, MAOI's and newer antidepressants such as Viibryd and Trintellix

I used methylphenidate for several years, along with c/l and amantadine. Mp helped me, but doesn't help everyone.
