Higher doses of omega-3 supplements may b... - Cure Parkinson's
Higher doses of omega-3 supplements may be needed for averting cognitive decline
FYI - Fish oil and Parkinson's disease
( this guy has a lot of short but nice videos that focus on inflammation too).
Given previous human studies that have used omega 3 dosing in the 4 gram range safely, it would have made more sense to use higher dosing such as that( 4 grams/day), in actual AD patients if you really want to know the potential benefits that omega 3's have to offer AD patients.

I usually get a little less than a Tbl spoon of Hemp oil, with Avocado on my dinner plate and I notice I am a bit brain fogged the next day. from the reading I did I should be consuming more Hemp oil as well as MCT oil.
There is one problem , Hemp oil has more Omega 6 than recommended. 1:4 (Omega 3 : Omega 6)
Based on what I know one needs MORE of Omega 3 vs less of Omega 6. (If I am not mistaken, there is one video in Barry's Youtube channel where he addresses Omega 3 vs Omega 6)
It is supposed to be 1:1
Looked at Barry's videos and could not locate anything about Omega 3 and 6 ratio.
I see that upon rereading my post above that it could be misinterpreted... I need more Omega 3 and if I take enough Hemp oil to get the desired amount (of O-3) I will be raising the Omega 6 volume to an excessive amount due to the ratio of 1: 3, or 1:4 , I have read both ratios.
I also take MCT Oil . Medium Chain Triglycerides, a derivative of Coconut oil as it can cross the Blood Brain Barrier ....

Does fish oil make anyone feel anxious? Something is doing this to me an hour or so after I take them at breakfast and I’m trying to work out whether it is that or the echinacea/ vitc/ garlic tablet, Or maybe the oatmeal or blueberries.?
It could be the glucose/carb load from the berries and oatmeal, not good first thing in the morning. You need to have protein and healthy fats as well. Blood glucose imbalance can cause dementia plus insulin issues.
I just saw your post.
Fish oil has shown a propensity to increase anxiety and insomnia :

Oh that is very interesting thanks. Hubby takes 3 of these Per day. I just take the one at breakfast. I have noticed a correlation with him feeling worse if we have salmon the night before too. I wonder if I should reduce it for him but other studies say it helps. Maybe it is just too much pushed over the top by whatever he gets from food some days.

Active Ingredients:
Each Capsule Contains:
Fish Oil - natural 1000mg
Equiv. Omega-3 marine triglycerides 300mg
Equiv. EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) 180mg
Equiv. DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) 120mg
Encapsulating aids, Antioxidant
It isn’t such a height EPA though so potentially not enough rather than too much in relation to the DHA?
This study suggests a DHA : EPA ratio of 2:1 for best effect.

I wonder if humans are the same as mice. It seems different ratios benefit different conditions, and also the ratio with omega 6. In fish DHA is higher so it seems that should be healthier?
In some areas of health, it seems DHA is more useful

while in other areas of health EPA may be more useful:

When I have taken fish oil, I remember there were many EPA : DHA ratios available so it looks like you can just choose a ratio that goes with what you are trying to improve such as mood may be more responsive to EPA while DHA is a major portion of brain fat and maybe useful for overall should be good for the membranes of the brain.
I've seen studies that favor one component over the other for specific issues, but overall just having the proper ratio of total omega 3 in relation to omega 6 is probably good. Because the average American diet is high in omega 6, boosting omega 3 makes plenty of sense. The following abstract shows that the optimal omega 6 to omega 3 ratio can vary depending on what you are using it for :

Yes. We don’t use any seed oils like soy or canola or sunflower but eat a handful of nuts and seeds each day. And fish usually salmon every 4 days. And use mostly olive oil, a little coconut oil and butter and ghee. Hopefully that balance is right.
