There seems to be two main aspects to exercise and PD. One is improved coordination from motion, such as with physical therapy, yoga, and stretching. The brain is good about compensating with different abilities for one lost ability. This is a noticeable benefit to PwP without needing a statistical population,
A second major benefit of exercise for PwP is chemical reactions in the muscles that slow down the progress of PD. This benefit is difficult to observe on the individual level, and usually takes a statistical population. PD already progresses at different rates in PwP independent of exercise. Fatigue from exercise can give PwP the feeling of the opposite effect.
One question is what is the difference between aerobic type exercises and strength building exercises (anaerobic) when it comes to PD? Do different exercises result in differing chemical reactions in which PD responds differently?

Everything I've read about the studies into disease modification talk about aerobic exercise. On the other hand, surely maintaining muscle mass and good posture for as long as possible provides other benefits that offer the perception of slower progression even without a chemical effect? (Not saying there's no chemical effect with strength training, just saying may be there are other benefits too).
