Blurred vision?: What do you mean by that... - Cure Parkinson's
Blurred vision?

Always both eyes on the same time, or sometimes one, sometimes other?

I mentioned this issue to my GP the other day. She proceeded to remind me that not all evils spring from PD! LOL. She suggested I go to an eye doctor...To be continued...

I had same experience and was told the same thing - cataracts !! Dennis
I also have noticed blurred vision as well as changes in dept perception, and sometimes double vision when reading. There was an interesting show on Parkinson Recovery Radio on January 18, 2012.on this subject. The web site they gave was optometrist.org/Riverside.
I too have the same problem where it is difficult driving where I can't read signs and at night it's worse yet. I feel like all I see are Christmas tree lights everywhere but they r head lights and street lights, I was told the blurred vision was due to dry eyes due to the decreased blink reflex which is an early symptom of PD. I use Systane Advance Eye(OTC)
lubricant drops. It is soothing and it clears my eyes for a while. Amantadine also causes blurry vision I found out! You might want to look into the dry eyes. They can put punctals in to help promote tear production. There's my 2 cents worth! Have a good weekend.
i developed edema of the cornea. i am one many medications. surgery was indicated but i have this wonderful eye dr. he researched all my meds and found out Amantadine can xause the problem... stopped the med and my eyes started to get better.. they are still not perfect but i was toold it can take a long time to heal. i was very lcky to have a dr. that was willing to check my meds. it avoided a very serious surgery. i also hace dry eyes and use restasis 2x per day and other drops. hope this helps. oh i have MSA..
I GET THE DOBLE VISION WHEN WATCHING TELE BUT IT GOES AWAY - MOSTLY - ALS WHEN READING BUT HAVE BOUGHT SOME OFF THE PEG SPECS FOR READING AND THIS HAS HELPED A LOT
Yes my eyes have been going through some major vision changes ,I was going to have them checked again.
I have double vision/ blurred vision/eye pain and have been diagnosed by a Neuro-Opthamologist and Optometrist with Convergence/Divergence disorder. I have been told by my Optometrist who helps me manage it with prism lenses, that this is a part of Parkinsons for many, as the eye muscles can be effected much like the other muscles in our body are. The prism lenses are helping me immensely. I can do much more close up work before the double vision, and eye pain etc...set in.
I have blurry vision; it seems to relate to quick changing from distance to short range and back again. One explanation is lack of Dopamine slows the speed of messages to the Retina (?). Suggested by OD at recent eye exam is to not use Bi-focals and certainly not Variable lenses. So now I have 4 sets of reading glasses all in various locations, getting another set of distance lens, and almost hate TV as action is so rapid. Dr says no to cataracts, and I use a 28inch computer monitor to good use.
I note that there many negative and positives by people on this site, mostly dependent on how a persons attitudes vary. I find some good days and some not very good at all. Each day is a gift especially with 6 grandchildren.
Viktor Frankl wrote about Logotherapy that suffering is one of several essentials to having purpose or "will to meaning" or any survival.
This problems with vision, are they one of the first symptoms of PD orthey come later?
my deteriorating eyesight is probably due to old age
but I have to work hard at stopping it damaging my
self confidence. Sharon
