Does Sinemet affect mood?

Four Sinemet over 10 hours, it feels a bit like Percoset; Calm, no anxiety, feel relaxed and happy with the world. Placebo??

My wife takes Sinemet 2 pills x 4 times daily and there is nothing close to your response? She’s in first year of diagnosed with Parkinson’s and her response to medication is nill. Her anxiety level requires medications to control the symptoms.

I had depression and anxiety for many years before starting sinemet. I tried several antidepressants which worked somewhat but never fully resolved it. When i started sinemet within two days i felt closer to "normal" than i had in many years. Ive talked with others who've had similar experiences.

Yes, in general I feel more positive on Sinemet. It makes sense since overall energy level is improved, and movement is more fluid.

I take Sinemet every 6 hours. Small dose, 1/2 of a 25/100. I get “On” time when dopamine is being delivered to the brain and “0ff” time when the brain is dopamine depleted. And yes it affects my mood. During “off” times I tend to get angry and frustrated when working the computer mouse is difficult and when I drop stuff in the kitchen, and depressed when I listen to the news. Solution: during off time get up and do some Chi Gong. Listening or watching news these days can be depressing any time. I try to limit news exposure. If you have means of stress reduction use them. Nobody ever said living with PD was easy. Try to be kind to yourself 😁.

No, definitely placebo. I quit a few days ago because foot edema was so bad I couldn't put shoes on.
