Mood and sinemet?

Two years ago I was diagnosed with MS, PD and APS all together. Since then I've been in a bad mood basically every day, all day. My staff say my mood was much better while I was on sinemet. I didn't think so and didn't see any change in my dominant hand tremor. But maybe I was wrong. Does mood improvement happen with sinemet use?

hello,

I dont know what i would do without my Sinemet! It has been a lifesaver for me.It doesnt help all of the time with my tremors but the alternative of not taking it would be worse.It helps me live a somewhat normal life.

I can tell when my med "off" time is getting close, I'll start getting in a bad mood. And when they start kicking in, I can feel my mood lift immediately. They usually take 40 to 50 minutes to kick in, but sometimes it takes 1 - 2 hrs.

I was diagnosed over 4 years ago and waited 3 to start sinemet. I had had anxiety and depression for 15 years prior that had never responded fully to anti-depressants. I starteed sinemet and within days my mood was better than I could remember. The mood stabilization has remained since and I've been able to substantially reduce my antidepressants.

This is probably not true for everyone, but I have met a number of people with PD with similar stories.

I am curious if you have tried the ultra high dose biotin (vitamin B-7) for the MS and if you have, did or do you find any benefit with that treatment?

Thank you. I thought it was Multiple Sclerosis (MS) but didn't know what APS is.

Kevin, Sinemet has not helped my mood. Anti-depressants may be of help, for you. It might be good to talk to your Doctor, about that, and maybe it will help you get a little relief! I can relate. I have PD, and Ataxia, caused by a blood vessel infringement, in my cerebellum, that is inoperable. Combine that with persistent diagnosed anemia, and, my mood can go south, so to speak! I was diagnosed with probable demyelinating disease, for a few years, before Docs took an MRI, and discovered my symptoms, were caused by blood vessel infringement, causing Cerebellar Ataxia. I was diagnosed with Parkinsonism 1-1/2 years ago. The only effect of Sinemet I have noticed is an improvement in mood/alertness which stars 1/2 after I take a dose.

Should say it starts 1/2 hour after I take a dose.
