I've been trying bio kult migrea because it also contains Bacillus subtilis PXN® 21. I just started on my 2nd box. To be honest, the jury's still out, but it is not doing anything bad.

Same here. I have been taking 3 MIND caps a day since march 1. (i.e. 1 month). I take them end of each meal, for less acidity in the stomach.

They say 1 to 4 caps a day.

Once you start a colony in your gut, i imagine you don't need so much every day to maintain it, right? They reproduce on their own , dont they?

WAT? You have a colony of living creatures inside your stomach? How do you feel comfortable with that?

Your stomach must be making a lot of noises and grumbling all the time, how do you cope with that?

Thinking about it alone, I feel squeamish 🤥

If you don’t you’re in trouble😁

Sorry, but I have no idea. I guess that if you stop a foreign probiotic, the original microbiome slowly return to what it was... like when you eat yogourt...

Sort of. It depends. You have colonies of bacteria for sure. These are "residents" - bacteria which live in your gut.

But you also have "transients" which you ingest, which spend some time in your gut doing good, but which don't stay.

Have you noticed any change?

Xenos profile image
Xenos in reply toladyaudree

A change ? Not really. But if it prevents alpha-synucleins to clump in the guts and travel to the brain via nerves that could take years before seeing improvements or eve slowing of PD progression.

It is not supposed to go through the blood-brain barrier like mannitol was supposed to.

By the way, taking PNX 21 provokes gas. if you take both, it becomes unbearable...

ladyaudree in reply toXenos

You said if you take both--what else are you taking? I spoke to someone at the company and she recommended 4 per day for Parkinson's. I'm waiting for a shipment and then I will try it. I've been taking 1 or 2 with no bad side effects. I believe that in the worm study there was some mention of restoration of function. Good gut bacteria may even give your immune system a boost during this epidemic.

Thank you for sharing the figure.

I take B1 (without any success) : 2 g, mannitol (I stopped because of the gas...) : 10 g.

Giving my mother 4 Bio-Kult Mind capsules per day ( 2 x 2 - each dose of 2 capsules after her morning breakfast at 7.30am and then after her lunch at 1.30 pm), since a month. Her sleep during the night has REALLY improved. Now she gets uninterrupted sleep for almost 5 to 6 hours before waking up to go to the bathroom in the morning. (10.30 pm to almost 4 am most of the days - I make sure she goes to the bathroom before going to bed) Previously she used to get up every 3 hours (2 or sometimes 3 times in the night) before getting up in the morning. No issues regarding flatulence or any other side effects. Hoping that increased continuous sleep is going to have a positive effect on her - mood and overall health. If it can help reduce those tremors and other side effects, then so be it ( will give it for a 6-9 months at least and see if that happens). Stopped Symprove once I started giving Mind. (gave it for almost 9 months and it had some benefits - for mood, constipation etc.)

Hope it hapens for me. Where do you get it?

As it was not available in the US before, got it from the website (UK) below. Have enough supplies for 3 months (total of 6 boxes x 60/box ). There was a 10% discount when I ordered - that took care of shipping costs (not free if outside US).

Bio-Kult MIND is now available in the US:

I placed my first order with them but when I tried to reorder they told me they could not ship to the U.S. When I tried it today they offered me a 15% discount so I ordered 4. I am upping my intake to 4 per day beginning today.

MIND is the formula that contains the most PNX21 which is what they used in the study. Made by a company called Bio-Kult. You can order it on their website and they said it will be available on Amazon in the near future.

Can someone provide a link to that study? I recall a thread here on the subject, but I am unable to find now. I find the search feature on this site a bit lacking.

Google PXN21 and Parkinson's to find it. Here is one report:

I have been using one cap a day for about a month. It seem to help with my constipation.

Been taking 1 a day of multi strain which also has the pxn 21. Seems my bowel movements are more consistent and easier. Other than that nothing. But that in itself is a blessing! 😂
