We have had a few recent posts discussing fecal transplantation and/or the need for more good bacteria in the gut. About a year ago, there were several posts regarding Bio Kult Mind, which has some of the supposed "good bacteria." I bought Bio Kult Mind, but have been very inconsistent in taking it.
Have any of you taken it consistently during the past year and perceived any benefits? Have any of you concluded it has no benefit and quit?

Hi Jim, I have been taking 2 capsules of Bio Kult Mind in the morning before breakfast for about a year. However, it is said that a long period of time is required to verify the benefits of this type of therapy. Assuming it is possible, for us, to determine which product to credit as we consume a multitude of them. However, I can say that the stomach is the part of me that work best.
Hi nychengm, I took BioKult for a few months with no apparent improvements. Over time I have tried other different probiotics. After a stool analysis (essential) the specialist advised me to take a probiotic food supplement called "Bowell", produced by PharmExtracta spa (Italy), for a few months and to be repeated during the year. I don't know if that is helping because I am taking many other aupplements but five years after the diagnosis my PD hasn't raced too much, in fact I'm taking 150mg of Levodopa like the first day and I've and I'm certainly not killing myself with exercise. I have no advice to give you because everyone has their own PD e everyone is different from the others but one thing is certain: research is increasingly focusing on the gut-brain axis. I wish you the best.
If people learn what to eat, how to breathe and how to sit correctly then they don’t need probiotics . For how long can someone balance gut microbiome with taking probiotics?
In my opinion, probiotics are Waste of time and waste of resources. Like thousands of other useless supplements.
I use biospora from Klaire labs. It has bacillus coagulans, and bacillus subtilis. Yes consistently for about a year. I’m not sure if it’s helpful or not
Hi Jim my husband used bio cult for about a year and didn’t feel any difference. Constipation which was never one of my husbands symptoms gradually became more of a problem, but not all the time, so he added bio cult to help with gut biome.
I started to research about resistant starch and how it can help with constipation and help increase the gut biome naturally so adding some of the recommended foods to the diet and increasing vegetables. The other thing he added was inulin, which is powdered chicory root. It has been a work in progress and he feels it has helped him over time.
The website below says adding it to the diet can benefit digestion. I know it won’t suit everybody but lots of information here and lists foods that can help.
Zella,I also started using roasted chicory root for morning "coffee" - it has a pleasant taste (I add coconut milk and mannitol), however supposedly it can create allergic reaction in people sensitive to ragweed and may not be good for people with gallstones as chicory stimulates bile flow. Hope we won't have to deal with those issues.Thank you for sharing your experience.
Hi Jim - my mum is using Bio Kult Mind + Bio Kult boost (the normal 14 strain one) and B1 (following Dr Costantini method) and is having some benefits so far. I just hope it lasts. Personally I think prebiotics and the gut- brain axis is important and a very interesting field of science that l am following closely.
Hi Jim, Biokult didn't work for me. However, Symprove has. After two weeks I had to reduce my Levadopa medication by 50% - more drug was getting through and I felt like I'd drunk 5 cups of coffee! Five months later that's still the case. My digestion has improved significantly.
Hi Rick, How did you take the Symprove? Did you do 8 weeks only? I have been thinking of trying this for my husband. Thanks for any info. Have a great day.Cheers
Hi, my husband with PD took this for several months but I cant say it made any difference unfortunately and he stopped.Having read more about probiotics I understand that continually taking them shouldn't be necessary and getting the microbiome in a better shape is better done by eating the correct foods, and also eating more prebiotics (that good bacteria feed off). So we have been working on that.
I understand the challenges of constipations and learned over the years that good health balance in the gut is crucial to better health. Fermented foods, Pre & Probiotics are beneficial - any time antibiotics are introduced into the body, the gut is adversely affected as all bacteria - good or bad are wiped out of the gut. Once you finish a round of antibiotics, the only bacteria that return in the gut is the BAD Bacteria. Imagine this and all the additional medication taken for Parkinson's and realize that constipation is problematic if the gut is not in balance.
Jim, I didn't use Bio Kult Mind for eight months. I do not think it would have a beneficial or negative affect on my gut biome. So I would not recommend its use to anyone. 😂
I went through a couple of boxes of the stuff. Dont expect any miracles. Only positive effect is you might get a good bowel movement. Otherwise, I would stop wasting your money on it. Just my opinion based on my experience.
