Stimulating the ear can help PD??

Dr Joseph Mercola posts a PD treatment study that stimulates the ear. ( When you see anything posted by QuackWatch or Science Based Medicine, etc, be aware they are full time sites that are crafted by the pharmaceuticals. They spend a lot of money discrediting doctors who do not practice the pharmaceutical model.)

I'm not a fan of Quack Watch and have found their information to be much less than I had hoped for!

Years ago, when I was researching non pharmaceutical therapies, I saw Quackwatch. Then, I saw them again, and again. I wondered who was paying for this site: The pharmaceuticals.

Curios, what pharmaceutical companies pay for that site?

What evidence do you have to indicate that "the pharmaceuticals" are behind Quackwatch?

I have been studying alternative, natural, functional medicine for 40 years. Once we had the ability to go online, as I researched certain therapies, I noticed "Quackwatch" and other sites that disputed every natural therapy that had promise for curing chronic diseases. I wondered who was paying for these sites? Someone has to be paying for all the diligence of these sites. (There are many of them.) I have also followed several doctors over the years who know that to be true.

Quackwatch is not funded by pharmaceuticals. There is no evidence of this at all.

The reason the author is consistently negative about "natural therapies" and those that spruik them and other snake oil is that natural therapies are inneffective at curing chronic diseases.

The best cure for chronic diseases is not to get them, prevention.

What about B1? Do you believe in that? That's a natural cure. It is also important to be a critical thinker. Ask Why?

With regards to QuackWatch and other sites, the pharmaceuticals would never tell you they are behind those. This has been going on for years, as long as I can remember. "Sciencebasedmedicine" is another one.

"Retired psychiatrist and author of Quackwatch, a mission to slam holistic medicine and call it all "quack" medicine, has been officially declared by the US Court System to be "Biased, and unworthy of credibility." Stephen Joel Barrett, born in 1933, also co-founded the NCAHF - National Council Against Health Fraud, which, again, is a front......"

" In a lawsuit in Canada Barrett admitted to the following: (1)

The sole purpose of the activities of Barrett & Baratz are to discredit and cause damage and harm to health care practitioners, businesses that make alternative health therapies or products available, and advocates of non-allopathic therapies and health freedom.”

If I were a pharmaceutical, I would definitely want to stop natural cures, as it would affect my bottom line. The incidence of Diabetes has skyrocketed in the U.S. It is estimated one in three children will have diabetes by the time they are 18. This can be prevented and cured without pharma. How much does pharma stand to make from all these drugs for Diabetes and the drugs for PD?

The FDA attacked Dr. Stanislau Burzinski many times, costing him millions. ( The FDA has an open door policy with the pharmaceuticals. If you work for the CDC or the FDA, you probably worked for a pharmaceutical company first, and the reverse.)

Dr. Burzinski has been curing cancer with his natural therapy. The Grand Jury finally told the FDA not to sue him any more, as his therapy has cured cancer.

Bepo, with all due respect, it appears you are assuming. I’m sure you are telling the truth regarding your experiences but that doesn’t mean that Quackwatch is funded by big pharm. I think it is prudent that we question sites but also best if we know the facts.

Bepo,

Thanks for sharing! This seems like a promising double blind study - was also published last summer in Parkinson's News Today

parkinsonsnewstoday.com/201...

I am surprised nobody here mentioned it or may be I missed it. The device is approved by FDA but appears to be available through prescription only :(

Now this makes me wonder if there are any other ways to stimulate vestibular system?

Actual study is here:

The data is a mess - They need a remedial course on data presentation. They do not show actual P values. That said, it looks like it helped on certain measures.

Hmm wondering if I clip a wire to 6 volt battery if it would achrive the same results lol. Maybe a Tens unit? Pretty risky without a Dr I'm thinking. Good article tho.

You might need a doctor and an electrical engineer and a neurosurgeon who understands adding current to nerves.

Maybe Dr. Mercola is trying to repurpose an ancient, Hindu/Vedic Yoga technique that has been scientifically proven to stimulate the brain. Watch the video.
