Many people in the PD section of HU take NAC and report no side effects. This site as a section on side effects and dosage.

pdkid,

When I experimented with NAC, I found that once I got up around 2,400 mg/day, I started having digestive issues and had to stop my experiment at that point. The reason for the stomach upset is likely due to the low PH of NAC. Other than that, at up to 2,400 mg/day of NAC I saw no apparent or discernible benefit for me.
