With all the media attention around the new coronavirus (flu) strain, it's important to understand what it is and how you can reduce your risk of getting ill. I'm not going to rewrite the article, you need to read it for yourself.
It is interesting that these outbreaks have been fought by vaccine once the genetic code is known. I am hazarding a guess that the current outbreak has not been successfully conquered by traditional Chinese medicine.
Hard to calculate the impact of traditional medicine on this new strain of flu. I think the media is using the term coronavirus to make it more mysterious and frightening.
Western medicine has established itself in China. I've encountered visiting doctors from China at Mayo Clinic and they are very good. Many countries want to copy the US medical system - not because it's better, but because it's been spectacularly profitable.
Might creating a patented vaccine to sell be the motivation for engineering a designer virus? Look how many panics we've had with no meaning full global spread, Ebola, Zika, SARS, MERS...
China has a population of 1.386 billion (2017). For comparison the US population is 325.7 million (2017). Currently less than 15,000 confirmed infections in 27 countries and 305 deaths. Almost all in China. That's like a drop of water in a swimming pool. In no way am I minimizing the suffering of people - just trying to keep it in perspective.
The only part of China that hasn't reported any cases of coronavirus is Tibet. I think it's because they are isolated and rely on traditional medicine primarily.
I think isolation may very well be the saviour of Tibet. If you do not come Into contact with the virus you will not get the disease!
It is a Coronavirus and I am sorry if that makes you frightened. It is merely a scientific name for a family of viruses.
Here in the U.K. we are not as paranoid and do not have such a great profit motive. I guess thoughts of an engineered virus are the province here of those wearing tin foil lined hats!!
Looked at this, and it is similar to a few the others on the market...
but I followed into the articles down into their sources several others, and it turns out the real anti-retroviral activity is from this isolated protein called "Griifithsin," which I have yet to find in any commercially available product. In fact, it has been explored as a anti-retroviral investigated for use as a drug to stop HIV, and although it is also seen in the studies to interrupt many of the coronovirus variants, it is simply nowhere to be found, even in the chemical supply warehouses that even then only allow it for science research enterprise, not human consumption...just can't get it.
I am wondering, it may be locked up somehow into patent protection, even though it is not supposed to be hard for expert chemists to isolate and extract, there may only be one or two commercial procedures and they may have already been bought up anticipating drug patent and drug development.
No data I can find for anything that is not Griffithsin in something that people could access. At all.
It must not be financially viable to isolate this compound. You'll just have to ingest the algae in its whole form. There must be other beneficial phyto nutrients in RMA.
