My experience is that B12 helps with tingling in the nerves and other things, not sure if it helps with tremors. My mucuna has been upped enough now so that I have barely any tremors. I'm at 1600mg a day, in three doses. I also take B1.

Thanks ! I'm on the same stuff, but you gave me an idea. I'm going to change when, and how much mucuna I take. Currently I take 100 mg 7 - 8 times day.

Hi, May I ask what % L-dopa is contained in your mucuna? Many thanks!

I take a pure mucuna tablet containing 5 to 7 % l dopa from Banyan Botanicals. Just upped the dose from 5 every 2 1/2 hrs to 8 every 3 hrs.

I use the same type of mucuna but in loose powder form.

It is 99% l-dopa and 600 mg per capsule taken 3 times a day.

It is just the mucuna pruriens seed extract formulated to the 600mg size in capsule form. I started out on less 2 and half years ago, this newest dose only 2 weeks. He has gradually upped it. He's been trying to get my neck stiffness to abate, so far no luck. I was on 120 mg 3 times a day for about 2 years.

How long before you felt any change. In tremors..

This last time when he upped the dose it took about 3 weeks or so, I only had slight tremors tho. I was also having trouble turning my head to the left, like the gears weren't working or something. That's better now too.

yes large doses B1 and B12 and a daily multi-vitamine, multi- mineral has made every thing a bit better. My doctor says it will do no harm.

So, do you take Macuna in place of carbidopa?

KERRINGTON,

There have been at least 30 forum members who have reported tremor reduction of varying degrees by adding HDT/B-1 to their regimens. The best reductions were to almost normal or so well that others could not tell they had a tremor. Other members have reported an initial tremor reduction that was short lived, while other members have reported no improvement in tremor with B-1.

An important consideration regarding tremor and B-1 is that Dr. Costantini actually felt that B-1 alone may not do much, if anything for tremor, but when used in conjunction with various levodopa products and both doses were optimized to the patient, he felt that he got his best results as far as tremor reduction. I am not positive, but I believe this synergy also may apply to mucuna pruriens products in conjunction with B-1. He also felt that tremor was one of the toughest motor symptoms to deal with.

I have reduced tremors taking thyroid hormone and b12. They have helped me personally

Thanks. How much B 12 do you take ? You are the 2nd person who mentioned that helping. Unfortunately I'm borderline hypo thyroid, and none of the endo's I've seen will prescribe thyroid meds..

I take anywhere from 1000-5000 mcg per day sometimes with higher dose I get leg cramps so will up my potassium to help, try to find things to support your thyroid function I think that was equal to b12 in stopping my tremors
