I found 23 and me to be useful.
Some are concerned about privacy. Ex. 23 and me or associated firms, labs etc get hacked, data stolen...
Can you give a fake name if you are worried about privacy? It does have implications for children if you have certain genes . Potentially it could be something insurers ask you to disclose if you have the info. Eg if you have say a BRCA gene for cancer or the one for Huntington’s etc your children one day might be asked has you or a parent got this particular gene.
My husband had his done however and it was useful to find he has the mthfr double defect and faulty genes which mean he doesn’t detox well. I haven’t had mine done but now we know our kids have at least one of these genes too so we can impress on them the need for a healthy lifestyle. Whether they listen or not is another story!
Absolutely not.
