Something is working for me.

Disclaimer: Although I have a degree in Biological Science, I am NOT a physician.

I have made 3 changes to my routine. I’ve added ubiquinol for orthostatic hypotension/

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/290...

PS 128 probiotic

benedlife.com/

And galvanic vestibular stimulation.

journals.sagepub.com/doi/fu...

Since I added all 3 of these I can’t say if it is any of the individual add-ons

Or if it is the combination, but after about 3 weeks, I’ve noticed…

Orthostatic hypotension improved by 50% (I have passed out from it 4x previously)

My mood has improved (anxiety way down) I felt happy last week (it has been so long

I forgot what happy felt like).

I went from “wall walking” to pretty normal balance for most of the day (evenings still are rough).

So a little ray of hope :)

What is the name of the galvanic vestibular stimulation device that you use? Can you provide a weblink for this device? Also, how do you use your galvanic vestibular stimulation device, how many times per day, etc. Any additional info you can provide is appreciated. Thank you for sharing your input.

I'd recommend consulting a PT, chiro or another healthcare provider who is familiar with electrical stimulation techniques to supervise you.

I was trying to find out if there was a doctor who knew about this treatment in our area but I am not finding anything

Look for a physiotherapist or a neurological chiropractor. Galvanic stimulation has been around for decades, using it for vestibular rehab is new.

surprisingly we are going to a chiropractic neurologist this morning for the first time so I guess I can ask her if she is aware of this

So watching this makes it look like the GVS makes things worse!

This shows a healthy person, I fall to my right, with the anode on the left ear I'm "centered"

slimweiss profile image
slimweiss in reply to House2

Oh!!! So it shows how it affects one side or the other. My husband doesn't fall but he leans left and his posture is very stooped. I wonder if this would help with that.

The body is pulled towards the anode +

Interesting! What inspired you to try home galvanic stimulation? Were you doing balance/vestibular rehab and they recommended it?

My chiropractor introduced me to all sorts of eStim long before I developed PD. I've been a fan of it for years. Since my PD diagnosis and wanting to avoid Deep Brain stimulation, I've been searching for ways I can stimulate my brain W/O the surgery.

I have undergone galvanic vestibular stimulation as part of a research project at the University of Kent in the UK. They have also carried out a trial of caloric vestibular stimulation that showed some promising results. Its definitely an area worth looking at.

Hi, I tried to order the probiotic but not only it's too expensive, the shipping cost for me is $99USD.

Hi House2, do you take PS128 at bedtime? With how much water?

How far apart from other things? Thanks
