Any thoughts on safety for PwP? My sister started using Soolantra last week for her severe rosacea. It has done wonders in one week...applied on face only 2 times. I am unsure of its safety (FDA approved doesn't mean sh*t).....especially for the neuro health of PwP. Any knowledge or thoughts? I'm thinking about using it for my rosacea.
Thanks!

Not sure how ivermectin compares to an antibiotic or if it kills bacteria as well as mites?
My husband was on doxycycline for years for roseacea before diagnosis and when his gut bacteria were tested he had no bifidobacteria and not many lactobacteria and he was overrun with other opportunist bacteria that were resistant to doxy. I think it may have been the the trigger for the Pd. He now controls it by eating no sugar, no gluten, masses of vegetables especially salad, and alternating berberine and Allimed (garlic) week about with probiotics. I think this is a much safer way than wiping out all your beneficial bacteria and works well, but it does come back if he stops for a while. To be fair it comes back with doxy too when he stops it for a while.
While you could have rosacea, in Parkinson’s, seborrheic dermatitis is much more common, and the two can be confused. For the latter, a mild steroid cream will help, as will using an anti-dandruff shampoo (Dove has a good one), on the scalp and face.
