Hi all

This is a link to my vlog which discusses my appointments with the physiotherapist and speech therapist this week, and the letter from my neurologist following my appointment last week.

O my Gott.....unbelievable........now I understand that so much over and over also is possible in politics (Brexit.....).

I would answer him straight, saying that he should let him examined on dementia !!! Or something like : don’t drink and drive >>>>>>>>

don‘t drink and write !!!!

Set him straight . Don't let his error become cast in stone in your med record.

Definitely set him straight! There might be something unforeseen in the future that requires the record to be correct, and now is the time as if it’s left, it could be too late later on to be amended!!

I would set him straight, one error maybe but it seems like the only thing he got right was your name. Good luck.

You're quite right - that was about the only accurate part of his letter!

I have found the incompetence of neurologist claiming to be movement disorder specialists quite incredible. Parkinson's nurses rarely listen and never follow through. I would set the record straight and also complain through the NHS complaints procedure.

please note my opinions are based on my experience having been diagnosed in February 2018

What a farcical situation with your neuro, straight out of Monty Python 😱

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time correcting it 'remotely' it could be stressful and difficult to get done properly.

Rather, I'd get on with my life BUT sort it out at the next appointment. Take a copy of the letter with all the inaccuracies highlighted and request it be rewritten for the record. Face to face is always best.

Maybe worth a short note to your Neuro in the meantime stating that his most recent letter contained several inaccuracies.

Bon Chance!

I’m a former physio and I agree with your approach. As frustrating as it may be, a little tact works better. Most health care personnel are stretched too far but do try to get things right.... but there are exceptions!

Do you know what your treatment target site is? GPI or STN. If it’s the GPI the probability of improving your speech is likely not too good. It requires more juice and the current bleeds over to glosspharyngeal motor pathways... it’s a bummer!

How maddening, Ian. I'm so sorry. I'm with those who feel that it's better not to wait but to set the record straight as soon as possible. Praying that things will go better for you.
