Neurologists treating patients with early-stage Parkinson’s disease should prescribe more often therapies that spare patients from starting levodopa too soon in order to delay onset of side effects associated with long-term use of the medicine, findings from a study conducted in Romania suggest.

My husband only took azilect but he’s terribly slow and no quality of life. He can’t even pull his trousers up

Jumex, may I ask how long he's been diagnosed or how long he's been on Azilect? How old is he? I would like my husband to start Azilect as monotherapy. Thank you.

Hes been taking azilect since Dec 2017. He seems ok but lately he seems to have declined much more. We went to a fourth private neurologist on 18th may 2019 and dr said he should start with a small dosage of madopar. He took it at 3 in the morning (he goes to bed early ) and by 6 , when he went for his fast walk he could feel the strength on his back.

Thank you! Hope with the addition of Madopar he will do fine. It's an endless war. . . :(
