I'm sure drinking to excess doesn't help, but at least for me (just diagnosed a year ago), a beer or two is calming, pleasurable, and not something I am inclined to give up unless a conclusive link between alcohol consumption and progression is established. Everything I have read has been inconclusive or contradictory, although I have read that a glass or two of red wine may be beneficial. If nothing else, I enjoy the social aspect of having a beer with friends or family.

I'm sure I read that hops may be beneficial? My experience is that a beer or glass of wine is positive, but that excess makes me feel terrible.

Beer I believe is made with Thiamine.

My husband drinks some wine every day and it relaxes him. His PD is progressing, but it doesn't seem to be due to wine.
