Homeowner to plumber re bill; "$300 for less than an hour’s work! That’s outrageous. I am a lawyer and I don’t make that much."
Plumber to homeowner; “I know. I didn’t make that much when I practiced law either.”

Thank you, we all need a good laugh!
That's funny, Marc and it reminds me of an incident that I had!
I went to a chain automotive repair facility for new tires. When my car was almost ready, the salesman told me I needed new shock absorbers because he said mine were worn out. I asked him how much it would cost and how long would it take. He told me it would cost about $900 and my car could be ready in an hour and a half. I told him that it sounded expensive for shock absorbers and I would have to think about it. I went home and called a local auto parts store to find out what shock absorbers would cost for my vehicle and he told me if I wanted to buy upgraded shocks they would cost $200, otherwise OEM shocks would be about $150.
So this meant the guy that wanted $900 for four shock absorbers installed was charging me at least $700 for an hour and a half of labor. I had just been to an attorney about a month before that and he was charging me $300 an hour.
I guess people will charge whatever the market will bear.

so I guess that gives a person a good idea of what professions their kids or grandkids might want to pursue because most of these jobs are apprenticeships with much less cost than going to college - that said some of the jobs are physically challenging when a person is older so a lawyer may be able to do the job for a longer period of time : ) . We had a roofer who was in his 60s fix our roof a few years back and he was trying to keep his business going by hiring some assistants but he was not having a lot of luck - he did a great job and he did not overcharge us
cute!
love it!
just don’t get them to train in anything chatgpt can do!
😂😂😂😂😂that made my morning, Mark!
Very funny Marc, thank you!
I would like to say a word in favor of the plumbing profession: 24/7 availability, difficult working conditions, Requests for performance that cannot be said…😂
I am pleased to see that you are in a good mood… and it is also contagious!!! 👍👍👍
Greetings from Italy..

Hahahaha
I have a REAL story like that:
We hired a guy to bang out some dents in our car--his "name" was Doctor Dent and he made housecalls. So he came to our driveway with his bag of tools and proceeded to hammer out a bunch of dings while my husband (who loves this stuff) watched.
My husband (very impressed...and he happens to be an anesthesiologist) said: "you know, those tools look just like the things I watch orthopedic surgeons use."
And of course, you guessed it, the guy said: "Oh, I used to be an orthopedic surgeon. I like this job much better!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for a chuckle first thing this morning...or maybe it's not as funny as I think. My elderly in-laws just got quoted $300 for someone to haul a pile of leaves from their yard. Good grief!
Thanks for sharing that, Marc. I find a good laugh temporarily reduces my PD symptoms!
