Hi fellow parkies. I woke up with stiff neck today, unable to turn my neck to the right or left.I have experienced this before, but not as much as today's.I am currently taking sinemet 25/100mg, 1&1/4 tab 3x plus 1 tab before bed time.Has anyone on sinemet experienced this before? If so how did you treat this?Could this be due to the sinemet or a symptom of PD? Please help with your insight.I will appreciate it very much.

Yes! I'm going through this at the moment. It's causing awful headaches.I take muscle relaxents that help and do stretching exercises. But I don't like to keep taking tablets.I'm also on Senimet
I have dealt with that for many years. It comes and goes as it pleases. Neuro tried to explain it as my body's inability to assimilate CD/LD consistantly the same.
Yes, I have been battling it for the past 6 months. Stiff neck upon waking and headaches. Happens mostly on my left side which is my effected side. I get weekly massages and take a muscle relaxer when needed. Seems to help for now. I have lower back dystonia as well...same treatment. Fun times
Have you tried meditation. It works well for my exertional dystonia. It won’t happen overnight but in a week or two results appear.
I, too, take Sinemet. The scalene muscle (side of my neck) on my unaffected side has had a very hard contraction several times over the last 3 weeks. I have just by massaging it and holding my breath so I don’t scream until it passes. Sounds like I better contact my neurologist. Thanks for bringing this up!
Justhavefun2,thanks for your input.
My PD interacts with cervical spine problems, and both are affected by my postprandial hypotension.
