I think you might like this book – "You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter" by Joe Dispenza.

Start reading it for free: a.co/cKLeJip

Numerous examples of cases of Parkinson's that are relieved to great degree, especially case study in chapter 10.

I'm not quite done with the book but I can still recommend it very highly. Enjoy!

I believe in the power of mind over matter and pain.

I believe there is a power in all of us , that can lower anxiety , fear and anger and promote well being .

Chapter one : I believe that to walk out of care in that situation that this guy has to be nuts.

I have posted consistently on Dr. Joe Dispenza and his books, including his newest one, Becoming Supernatural, where he outlines the extensive research he has done with students in his advanced workshops (husband, PwP, and I went to his progressive workshop in 2014, after reading You Are the Placebo). His meditation methods have achieved some impressive success .... IF you are willing to put in the work. They are NOT what you think of as the relaxation kind of meditation. Another interesting book is by Dawson Church, Mind to Matter. I've only read a little so far but looks good.

What do you mean:

"They are NOT what you think of as the relaxation kind of meditation"?

Thank you

the meditation is meant to take you from a "particle" state of being to a "wave". This is not going to make sense unless you read the book. Basically, it is designed to help people get out of their own way.

Hi Parkie, Dr. Joe has several meditations that he uses in his workshops and also sells on CDs. I have several of his CDs (after going thru his initial workshop). For example, a personal favorite of mine (and many of his other students) is called Blessings of the Energy Centers. You decide on a symbol for each of these centers (sort of like chakras) and focus on each center and beyond each center (this makes more sense if you have read some of Dr. Joe's explanations of this) . You send love, joy, gratitude to this center and continue up the spine to the different centers doing the same thing. This raises your "energy" and gets you out of particle (your everyday existence) to a higher field of energy, the wave. This is based on quantum physics. I wish I could articulate this better. It's just not listening to a guided meditation with soothing music. Dr. Joe's music would usually not be called soothing :-). If you can get You are the Placebo for a free download, you can understand this better.

kgold, so how did your husband do, overall, after the workshop? Can you describe his before and after?

a lot of this book is case studies that include progressive brain scans before, during, and after the meditations. The subjects are followed for several weeks and months, and the actual EEG and brain scan images are included in the book. He stresses that this is scientifically provable. That's one of the most impressive things about this book.

Hi Bassofspades - My husband is hard of hearing and has a hearing aid. Unfortunately, during the actual workshop and in using the meditation CDs, my husband has a hard time hearing Dr. Joe. For some reason, the music is a bit louder than Dr. Joe's voice and my husband just can't hear him. In the beginning I even tried taping my voice over similar music (you can purchase some of the background music) , but that didn't work very well either. Long story, Long - he never had any success with this. I, on the other hand, have done the meditations off and on and have found them useful. I just don't do them consistently, hence my comment about the work involved to really make a difference.

As for your comment re the You Are the Placebo book, if you want to delve into the results of his workshops, you should get his Becoming Supernatural book. For about 5+ years he hooked people up and did fMRIs and also Heart Math (heart rate variability) studies on the students in his advanced workshops. THat data was compiled and is in his latest book. Also, for people who don't get to his advanced workshops, he explains a bit more about a specific breathing technique he uses and also explains more about the different meditations.

If you haven't already done so, you can google "Dr Joe Dispenza testimonials" and you will pull up a bunch of YouTube videos. Some of these videos are pretty remarkable (and they give you a flavor for Dr. Joe's personality).

I read his book 4 months ago then purchased the progressive workshop online for $299.00 dollars 3 months ago, about 30 hours of video. Totally has changed my symptoms now barely there. Tremor 98% gone, Gait 98% normal, balance previously corrected by B1 is now 98% normal because I almost never drag my leg. Life changing.

I’ve downloaded meditations to my phone and will meditate 1-3 hours daily. Not because I have t, because I want to. Sometimes if I wake up during the night, I’ll just grab my phone and ear buds and off I go into meditation land. I love it and his work is different then anything I’ve ever experienced. Some time ago I learned I was capable of getting into a meditative state but didn’t know what to do when I got there until I learned Dr. Joe’s teachings. Get ready to stay busy.

Remember I previously attached the NIH paper about the man who reversed his Parkinsons through (they presume) meditation. You can find it under my name.

I’m on my way to doing it too.
