I applied to the BBC iplayer. No problem, but when it came to wanting to see the GDNF documentary I was told (written) that it was not available outside the UK. I then found the post (I wish I remembered who posted it) for the YouTube copy.
I immediately watched the two parts. I'm glad I did. When I went back to confirm that it was considered a failure ONLY because it did not meet the expected trial requirements (20%) BY END of THE FIRST 9 MONTHS, but exceeded by those who had completed the 2nd part of the trial.............it had been removed from YouTube. I am so grateful that I got to see it.
jeeves19 and iqbaliqbal post it 9 and 10 days ago (see "Bristol GDNF trial) , links
to You Tube........now also just grey image to see via HU.......
is there something going on ??
Thanks for alerting me that Jeeves had posted the YouTube.
Anybody can post stuff on YouTube, but I think sometimes it can violate legal restrictions. I think that is what has happened. So, whoever posted it decided best to take it down. I am sure that eventually the BBC will make it available to the USA...but when?
I am grateful that I saw it.
Interesting programme. As enjoysalaud says it "failed" because did not meet set standards But you could see great improvments in the patients. Programme ended with pfizer withdrawing from trial. We are so at mercy of financial decisions- makes you wish chairman of the board got ill then see how they make same decisions!
