Hi,

There is no types of mannitol. It's like sugar - and used as sugar in some pastries - you have to weight it with a good kitchen scale before taking it with something : a cup of coffee, tea, some applesauce, anything you like.

For the dosage the best thing to do is with the Clinicrowd site : you answer their UPDRS-like page and it opens a page where you will find the ideal dose for you. It's bodyweight-dependant. For me, 70 kg, it's 9 grams a day.

I buy it through online supplement stores.

Excuse my ignorance, is it calorie free? I don’t eat/drink sugar in any form.

Mannitol is used as a sweetener. It is far less caloric than sugar but it is not calorie free. It's used by diabetics.

I take one slightly heaped teaspoonful spoonful in coffee in the morning (which is probably about 3 grams) every morning. 2 days a week this is all I have till lunch. I think it helps with autophagy. I think personally everyone's reaction to Mannitol is different. It is an Osmotic diuretic, so you need to be well hydrated. The amount I recommend you take is the amount that prevents constipation, but doesn't cause looseness of bowels.
