The Michael J Fox people announced that the inhaler delivery form of levodopa for off times was going to be available soon. That sounds like something that would be very useful. Does anybody know if it’s available yet?

Inbrija, Is what it’s called. And they plan on releasing it this year at sometime point.

Have you recently got your doctor to review your drug regimen. It may be that a simple increase in the dose size and/or frequency will reduce your "off" time.

My previous dosage is: 3, 100mg 4 times a day.

I am currently (while supplies last) taking 1 Rytary (245mg) and a C/L 100mg at 7am

And a 245 at bedtime

Daytime at 11/4 of 300mg

You could ask your doc for Madapor dispersible, acts quickly 😀

I take 1/2 25/100 C/L between Rytary doses for off times. Chew it (it's basically tasteless), let some absorb in my mouth, then swallow the rest with a drink of water.

I just take my next dose ,which is 1 and 1/2 pills of C/L (Sinemet - immediate release version) sooner, and if I'm feeling I need relief quickly (when I feel really whacked out -I get limpy gait and brain fog and fatigue), I chase my pills with a drink of hot water and a vitamin C pill. Within 15 minutes, I'm back!

Hi..why vitamin c, I noticed the next poster uses c too .

Good question: I was told by a friend online here, and backed up by my neurologist that the acidity in the vitamin C eats away the coating of the pill, breaking it down faster in so it can get absorbed faster in the small intestine. Hot water, I believe, helps dissolve the vitamin and pill faster.

Ah, ha...thank you !

What dosage/type of C do you take at "off" time and how many each day?

I generally take one or two tablets a day. The brand I'm currently using is Jamieson, and it's a 500mg tablet, orange-flavoured. You could use any brand, but the flavoured ones are nice! Or vitamin C packets that you mention below, sound perfect.

I use vitamin c packets. I'll begin to strategically use them in off times. Thanks. Why hot water?

I tried the vitamin C with the hot water. It greatly helped on time! Probably the ascorbic acid is activated by the hot water. Whatever the reason, thank you so much.

My neurologist upped my Sinemet, by 50%, when I had off time, starting about 3 hours after each of 3 dosages a day. That has solved the problem, for the most part for me.
