The doc increased my dosage from 1 to 1 1/2 pills of Sinemet three times a day. .
I start taking mucuna pruriens to lower dose of sinemet instead of increasing the sinemet dosage. Does anyone have a suggested dosage of mucuna pruriens to supplement 1 pill of sinemet 25/100 three times a day, in hopes of increasing mucuna pruriens gradually while decreasing sinemet? I also been taking Dr. Costantini's B1 therapy,1 B1 in the morning for 1 month, has not seemed to make much difference. I have a lot of Mucuna 15 % strong by Solay (50mg L-dopa) and Now(150 mg L-dopa). Can I combining and how.
I feel like I am swimming in a middle of the ocean...

sudoku, I think the Parkinson's community is split on whether or not you should take the 2 at the same time because of variations on where the stuff is grown and how it's processed, (no uniform standards) usually the dose isn't knowable, but as your MP declares the dosage, that may be moot or leaves you to decide if you want to rely on it.
There's a lot of PWP who do take both simultaneously and many go by how they feel.
There are several dozen discussions of this subject on the forum, some more thorough than others. You might want to put it in the search window and read a few those.
hi sudoku well why not try taking 1, 4 times a day and maybe take the half as the fifth time it spreads the same lot of pills over the day better.i do some thing like that on madopar.regards merry christmas,
Generally, 4 grams has shown itself to be too high of a dose for non-Italian PWPs who weigh 150lbs or less. At least that seems to have been what the majority and Dr. Costantini have mentioned on this forum. There are a few like Roy who have so far found 4 grams to be their ideal dose, but he seems to be the exception rather than the rule and I think Roy is closer to 175 lbs.

190#s. I (and Italians) were the norm at 4g daily. That was until his P wP market expanded.
I'm on that same regimen by my Dr but instead I take MP 1/8 teaspoon every 4 hours. It works great FOR ME. But like MBAnderson said, you'd have to test and see what works FOR YOU 😊.
I have been experimenting for about a year on the effects of Mucuna and now adding Sinemet because I wasn't getting enough from the Mucuna. I am taking Zandopa as it's the easiest to get in Canada (1 tbsp. is the recommended dose) and is supposed to equal to 25/100 Sinemet but it's not quite equal or doesn't cross the blood brain barrier as well.
Now adding 1/2 tab of crushed Sinemet 25/100 to !/2 tbsp. Zandopa. Difference is very noticeable as there is more clarity of thought and affects multiple areas of muscle stiffness much better, esp. in the face and neck, and tremor. If I take a full tab of Sinemet I get physically sick every time, (ginger doesn't help), so this works for me. This may help you judge how much to supplement with Mucuna in each dose. Once I added a little over a half tab Sinemet and little over 1/2 tbsp. Zandopa and got sick with that as well....so my stomach knows how much I can tolerate. If I had to take more than one dose a day I would do this each time.
Thank you, I was thinking to add Sinemet, but few articles not recommended mix Sinemet and Mucuna. I can't use more than 1/2 pill(3 times) Sinemet. My body get uncontrollable shivering.
