Enemas and gut toxins

Can enemas help remove alpha synuclein clumps & toxins? before they travel vagus nerve to brain? Studies?@bassofspades @mbanderson @royprosper

Amy have you looked into mannitol. I believe they claim it affects these synuclein clumps . Trying it but not noticing anything yet?

I don't know, but it seems like if there are a-syn clumps in the neurons in the lower colon (which there probably are) that would be sloughed off during an enema, it's not likely they're the neurons that affect motor control.

Hi Amy - the short answer is no. aSN clumps are inside nerve cells. Also, we already have PD so IF the theory is correct about aSN travelling up the vagus, trying to stop it will likely have little, if any effect.

Enemas can also disturb the delicate microbial balance in the gut, potentially causing more problems than they claim to solve.

What he said. An enema will likely disrupt the microbiome. Although our chum Perlmutter recommends probiotic enemas as a kind of halfway house poo transplant and claims success , I would exercise extreme caution. Asyn is made in the cells. The clumping issue is mis-folding when it is transferred from one neuron to another - there's a fault in the replication code (clumps can exist outside cells).

I am hoping A-syn clumps can be dissolved and hoovered up by PRX002. It works in mice!

If there's one thing I've learned since starting to research PD its that PWP are not mice! But here's hoping on this one

It's not yet on the street. The phase2b trial starts cohort B in January. 1st infusion of trial medication (or placebo) for cohort B is 8 February

My experience Is that enemas provide a cleansing effect for the body. With PD, we are looking for a potential triggers condition Such as heavy metals and chemical toxicity.

This is where enema can be helpful. I would suggest you ck out

Contrary to others comments coffees enema do not effect negatively gut biome as there are confined to the colon.

My local ND endorses this especially since it’s impact is targeting the lower bowel, mostly, as I understand it. Thanks for your resources- it’s still a bit hoaky for me, but I am curious!
