Avoiding Big Pharma.

I am new to blogging, this is our story.

My wife has had PD for 3 years and treated only with Sifrol (pramipexole) and Cipramil for the nerves, we found when we increased doses the PD symptoms got worse, so we reduced to the current level which was okay til now, then the local GP suggested 'it is time to get on the ladder of progressive medications to help the PD', so we saw the neurologist who suggested we start on Levadopa. I felt, knowing the side effects, this is not a good thing, so we decided to look at the path of 'Natural therapies'.

We are now getting a fairly good effect and the doses are as follows;

Sifrol .75mg.

Cipramil 20mg

Gotu Kola 425mg

ginkgo 2g

Q10 150mg and the one I think is helping the most is,

Mucuna Prureins from Biovia 1 cap 200mg

The result is my wife still has good days and some not so good, but mostly good days now. No side effects like have been described as for taking Levadopa, Sinemet etc. The Mucuna Dopa is a low dose so we can increase by taking 2 caps every second day. In all, I think not a bad result

C//L is a lifesaver for me, I would at least try it. I couldn’t take mirages at all

I have no side effects from C/L. Don’t believe everything you read

If it's working for your wife, why change it?? From what I understand, especially from John Pepper, the C/L doesn't heal of slow the progress, it just makes life much more bearable.

What works for some doesn't necessarily work for all.

Silvestrov, who no longer seems to be posting, never used C/L. He used Mucuna and tons of different supplements (all supported by studies). You can access his postings by writing his name in the search bar (top right).

Good fortune.

Regarding Silvestrov.....my guess is that he has nothing new to add except to repeat himself. If you put a subject of interest to you in the SEARCH HEALTHUNLOCKED, information will pop up and maybe it will be something that Silvestrov contributed. I am VERY grateful to him.

In addition, he is a multi-talented guy and I think he is putting his time in other areas.

Regarding your comment on Neuros, I think that Neuros don't come to this site because their days are full and their free time they want to use for themselves and their families.

Neuros like Dr Constani (sp?) and dedicated contributors to this site are to be THANKED a million times for their unselfishness. Amen!

Can you give me an example of "getting good effects?"

Levodopa is meant to slow down the progression of PD.

Where did you obtain your information on the natural therapy regiment?

I'm very interested in hearing more. Thanks so much.

Hi Forrest. I admire people who see past the temptation to take pills, because there is not a pill on the market that can reverse the symptoms of Pd.

I was diagnosed in 1992 and by 2002 I had overcome most of my Pd symptoms and have lived, medication-free since 2002.

Look at my website - reverseparkinsons.net and contact e and will try to help you. I do not charge for what I do.

Not what you're looking for?
