Sinemet and dyskinesia: If a person... - Cure Parkinson's
Sinemet and dyskinesia
Yes. Dyskinesia only happens when there is l dopa in the body. Once your body is clear of l dopa you dont have the dyskinesia. If you take it again you will have dyskenesia for the time it is in your body.
İ got severe dyskenesia on half a 25/100 but I'm ok on a quarter although it doesn't do a great deal for my symptoms
Dyskinesia is caused by too much lelevodopa in the substantia nigra. Therefore taking less levodopa should take away the dyskinesia.
May I ask you; did you find that when you first took the levodopa medication that some of your symptoms improved, if only temporarily?
If not. I would suggest that you don't need to take the levodopa as it is only designed to hide some of your symptoms and if it did not do that then it won't be doing you any good and you should stop taking it. You should start doing some exercise instead and fast walking is the best.
Hi SFLR. I would advise you not to do too much too soon. If you are walking as FAST AS YOU CAN you will be putting a lot of stress on your muscles. That is why I urge you to only walk every second day. Add an additional five minutes every second week. In that way you will get to the goal time of one hour every second day.
Good luck!
Is it the levadopa of the carbidopa in sinewy that causes dykinesiA ?...
Levadopa
I was ok had. Bad off time so upped my meds and started with mild dyskinesia so I would say yes probably
I take the ER C/L and i dont have dykensia anymore
99% of the time dyskinesia is induced by levodopa, just like Hikoi is right 99% of the time.
Tardive dyskinesia is caused by antipsychotic drugs - leaving open the possibility Rosabellazita is also taking antipsychotics
Science Direct
"Because dopamine agonists bypass the presynaptic elements of the nigrostriatal system, they have some advantages in relation to levodopa. For example, they cause dyskinesias and clinical fluctuations less frequently..."

"Dopamine agonists may also cause dyskinesia..."
Yes. Lower the dosage. As per my Doc,
