Modern MRI machines could end up poisoning people who have had a filling put in at the dentist, as new high-powered scanners can cause mercury to leak out of previously set fillings, a study has found.

This applies only to mercury amalgam fillings. There are many better materials these days. If your dentist is still using mercury, run.

yes, its unbelievable that some dentists still use them. but even if they dont, they still remove them from patients that already have them, and most of them do it improperly, so the mercury vapors are still flying around the office. i went to have my teeth cleaned last year, and i experienced such extreme dyskinesias, they couldnt even finish the cleaning. as soon as i got in the car, i was better. i just know that they must have worked on someone with mercury fillings right before me.
