Has anyone observed circadian, daily or weekly cycles in their Parkinson’s symptoms?
Two slumps same time each day. Shaky days and slow days and a 12 day mood cycle. This is not the medication because I haven’t taken any for 18 months! Is it a clue? (64 yr old male)
On Pdrecovery.org the doctor is postulating we have a 23-day Parkinson cycle, supposedly everybody at the same time. 23 days it's a wave graph that shows bad day that is turning into a good day so the cycle is made up of 12 and a half days. I have been marking my bad days on my calendar and it has been coming out fairly close to it. We have had this discussion before a couple times, and some people do see it and some people don't. So I have no idea. But comes out true for me. My bad days are here right now. That includes both physical and mental attitude.
My cycle seems to be pretty much on the 23 days I haven’t had the nerve to mention to my specialist. It seems that if it is not in the NICE guidelines then it is wrong.
Went to a very small family gathering yesterday. All sat around a table. After about three quarter of N hour I’d had enough and would have loved to have left. It laste 1.5 hours in all. So glad to get home. spent the rest of the day sat with the curtains drawn. Tried reading but that made things worse. Tried watching television. ditto. I have a report that I have got to finish so it is going to be an interesting day.
just doing this and my eyes are starting to tense up.
Hope you are feeling better today. It’s early days but I think Thiamine is flattening off the troughs. NICE are pretty conservative as well as the neurologists. Mood isn’t a neurologist’s problem!!!
Seems to be just another goodie in the Parkinson's package: "A growing body of evidence points to significant alterations of the circadian system in PD. This is not surprising given the pivotal role that dopamine plays in circadian regulation as well as the role of circadian influences in dopamine metabolism."
