Ive lost 18 pounds siince november;changed my diet;do pwp lose weight becos of pd?
I wish I had your problem...since I have been on PD meds for 4 years I have gained 40 pounds...It is very frustrating..I have cut down portions and increased exercise...right now I am trying Rock Steady Boxing for PD and in a month have lost about 2 pounds...I guess that s a start...I take 3 classes a week for 75 minutes each...they are a workout. I hear most parkie lose weight...I guess I drew the short straw.
Short answer is yes, people with Parkinson's can have a problem gaining weight. I have lost about 20 pounds and I don't mind but I don't want to lose any more. This will sound a little simplistic but a friend of mine when I was telling him about it said, more calories! So now I'm trying to eat things with more calories and still eat healthy. It always sounds lovely to be losing weight without even trying until you're the one doing it and then it's a little scary. Good luck!
