My husband has lost nearly 4kg in weight since January, he only weighs 64kg and is 185cm tall.
Any tips for healthy meals / snacks that he can eat that won’t interfere with his Stelevo

His BMI is 19.1. We need to be 20 or above. Nutrient dense food. I had to gain weight and did so by taking the easy route, i.e., loosening up my restriction on carbs, (allowing myself some pasta, potatoes, yogurt, and ice cream) fasting less, eating more unsaturated fat, exercising more, and eating more. I gained 12 pounds in a month.
Thankyou for your reply, he doesn’t follow a low carb diet, or fast , he plays golf 4 x a week , Pilates, HIT classes 4 x a week and runs 5k 2-3 times a week, don’t think he could do more exercise! He eats home cooked - as little processed food as possible, not a lover of veg so I hide them in stews/ casserole/ soups. He does have a sweet tooth so I don’t want him eating cake / biscuits too often , I bake any he eats so no additives. Just need some filling snacks - low protein as it really affects his medication- to eat between meals 😊
My husband had lost 10 kgs...he is 183cms tall, and went down to 63 kgs!
He managed to regain the weight by adding organic 100% buckwheat noodles to many things...tuna casserole, chicken veg soup etc and by snacking between meals with an organic paleo bread toasted with avocado piled on top, then sauerkraut on top of that. It took many months, but he now weighs the most he has ever weighed in his life and people are commenting on how well he looks, as he was always on the ‘thoroughbred ‘ side.
Oh, and don’t make the mistake we made by always checking his weight and worrying.
Best of luck to you.
If he has a sweet tooth how about making frooze balls with coconut oil, cocoa, dried fruit, eg dates, figs and apricots and coconut. I put nuts and seeds in to but I guess thats no good if you are avoiding protein. Or whey protein.
Or “ ice cream” made of frozen over ripe bananas blitzed with frozen berries and a few spoons of Greek yoghurt. It freezes instantly. My kids love it.
Or popcorn popped yourself with tiny bit of salt and butter for flavour.
If he can tolerate some protein sunflower, pumpkin seeds and almonds lightly heated in a little olive oil with a little sprinkle of salt and pepper and other spices eg cumin, paprika is a nice snack or good to sprinkle over salads.
Eat 3 meals and 2 snacks, incorporate whole grain breads and healthy carbs such as sweet potatoes. Add Boost Plus for your 2 snacks as this will add a little over 600 calories plus nutrients to your daily calorie count. Remember 3500 calories = 1 pound. If there is a problem with loss of appetite, there are meds to help increase it. I would seek your doctors advice and then employ a dietician/nutritionist.
He (we all!) should endeavor to maintain/add muscle weight (as opposed to fat)... This requires protein and some form of strength training...
Eat minimal protein for breakfast, low-to-moderate protein for lunch, and moderate-to-high protein for dinner...
After doing this, and depending on the timing of his doses, increase the levodopa amount of the appropriate doses to compensate for the reduced absorption due to the presence of the protein...
