Anybody else had an off day today? Both physically and emotionally it's been a very hard day. Mary

Perhaps it is related to the full moon last night. One scientist below feels the full moon can have effects on Alzheimer's patients.

Art

Alan M. Beck of Purdue University conducted a longitudinal study “to objectively examine the lunar influence on the frequency, duration and intensity of behaviors in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.”

The Alzheimer’s Behaviors Examined

wandering

anxiety

physical aggression

verbal confrontation

The study concluded that individuals with AD exhibited significantly more behaviors during periods of full moon, and that these behaviors were of a greater duration during the full moon.

50 years ago , my father and many of his friends were councilors ( care givers ) at a government institution/ hospital/ school /residence for mentally challenged . They watched the moon cycle because they all knew ,without question that a full moon would mean a busy night.

At that time the guys working the night shift in the fire and police departments , nurses in the Emergency Ward and the waitress in the all night restaurant all knew that the full moon brought out a strange wandering , uneasyness and irrational actions . Dogs exhibit nervousness and are awake and watchfull all night. I thought that was common knowledge, it is true.

I wish you a better day today. I find it to be cyclic> When i have an off fay I seem to have a few then I go in to a cycle of a couple of days in which I deal with my condition much better

Yesterday was one of my good days. I even felt, dare I say it, happy! Go figure. Also got things done on my list of errands. Amazing.

Yes I agree with all the reply’s. Have had 2 horribly emotional and physically challenging days. Opened up in an email to my Neurologist telling him things I have kept hidden as too personal. He phoned me back and now I have a choice of DBS or Duodopa. I don’t want either. I don’t want to give up on ‘hope’.

Are you feeling any better? I am starting to feel better. I mark my bed days on calendar and then I don't even think about them till I have another bad day. When I check it seems to come in that 23-day cycle it can be bad 21, 22 , 23rd day. That's why I keep on asking if anybody else is having a bad day since I really don't know.

You could try vitamin B1. I was really feeling better when I was taking it till I got up to about 3000 milligrams and it raises my blood pressure. So I stopped now I am only taking 500 milligrams a day. Also when I was taking B1 I did not have the bad days. So maybe since I stopped that's why it came back with a vengeance.

Much better day today. I take B Complex each morning. Saw it somewhere on Healthunlocked.. not sure if I feel better for it or not. I’m not into trying any of the other ‘cures’ as too many to try and interpret. My thoughts get tangled.
