I was diagnosed with Parkinsons age 63 1.5 yrs ago Rx Sinemex (carb/levo 25-100mg. 4 tabs a day). At first all was well; then a few months ago I started to have issues, especially deep fatigue 24/7 that was exhausting. I was so tired! Other problems as well.
So I decided to try going with Mucuna Pruriens (Swanson 200 capsules 350 mg) as I'd heard so many good things about it. Well, it was awful! My foot started to freeze to the floor so I couldn't move forward or turn-I couldn't take even one step; I needed help getting dressed, on & off toilet, forget shopping; stiff walking; tremors; the works.
My husband and I had read about ashwaghanda root and added it to our supplement list--about an hour after taking one capsule it was heaven! All of a sudden I could walk around downstairs BETTER than I had as a young child. NO leg freezing, needed no help using toilet, dressing. It was a MIRACLE. And then my 30 minutes in heaven were up. I decided to take a shower to celebrate the success of the ashwaghanda root and when I got out it was gone. Gone. I was back in frozen foot, fatigue, tremors land! I have tried adding it back to our daily supplement list and it hasn't changed, the frozen foot and arms are still there.
I can't live with the mucuna pruriens with the dosage etc. I tried to use (350mg capsule 2 a day) so it looks like I'll have to go back to the Sinemet, which is exactly what I don't want to do for all the reasons we discuss here.
My husband thinks we were not using enough mucuna pruriens to make a difference. Neither of us can figure out why the ashwaghanda root worked so so well for only 30 minutes...
Any ideas my friends? How do I move on from Sinemet to mucuna pruriens? And is that as good an idea as people say? My husband wants us to consider healing parkinsons with pro and pre biotics.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and kindnes.
