A lot of the natural supplements consumed by many of us, are natural blood thinners. Has anyone else experienced a bad nosebleed ?

My husband is on Coumadin for an prosthetic aortic heart valve. He gets nose bleeds in the winter due to dry air. He now uses vasoline in his nose to keep his mucus membranes from drying out. It does work.

He can tell his blood thinner is getting too high when his gums bleed while brushing.

"1400mg day" may be excessive. "...anyone on warfarin (Coumadin) or other anticoagulants should steer clear of turmeric or curcumin. Although this spice has anti-inflammatory properties, it also can magnify the effect of these anti-clotting medications."
