Azilect

I started Azilect yesterday. One pill in the morning. Today I have been deeply asleep for an hour and a half since breakfast and am struggling to wake up. My levodopa meds have not changed. Have others experienced sleepiness as a side effect of Azilect? Did it pass? I often doze, but have not slept deeply in the daytime before.

My neurologist has me take 0.5 in the morning & 0.5 in early evening & I've never had a problem with sleepiness from taking it.

morning sleepiness has always been my problem , before and after Azilect.

Unforunately Azilect did not help me when I took it as a monotherapy some years ago.

In fact my lips started shaking during the period I was on it so I stopped it.

However, everybody is different.

I take 1 mg after dinner. I got hot by sleepiness too. Moving it to nighttime helped.

I take Azilect in the morning wit my first of three Levodopa (Sinemet) and don't have a problem. I do get kind of sleepy after my 2nd Sinemet mid-day ad 3rd at night.

It takes time for your body to adjust to meds.... Give it a week.

I take 1 azelict with my 2 sinemet morning dose . I take a total of 5 or more sinemet daily. Yes at first I was very sleepy with all the meds and still get especially in evenings too. I’ve learned how to work my meds and yes your body does get somewhat used to it. Been on the meds for almost 5 years now.

Too much! I weary of posts about azilect. And while I am bitching , tired of posts about mannitol and mucuna

Didn't notice that side effect but I expect it will go away after a few weeks. It might simply be that at last your muscles can relax making you more sleepy!

I didn't have any issues with Azilect causing me sleepiness. It also did nothing else for me.
