I’m on both and they give me some relief but I doubt if a PSP patient will get too much benefit from them (or at least not as much as a PWP). PSP sucks. My mother in law had it.

A worse disease than PD but a cousin. Patients have about 4/5 years of life. Grim. That and MSA. These belong to a category called Parkinson’s Plus.

Thank God I've only got pd

But how do I know if my dad has psp? My dad can move his eyes horizontally but when it comes to moving his eyes vertically they do go up but not as much as when i do it. I wonder if its because of lack of eye muscles or psp? How do i know???

What are the 'must have' symptoms of psp? I dont know if my dads diagnosis is correct or not??

Steff. Sorry to have been so blunt with prognosis above. Thought you’d already had dx. Yes the inability of the eye to move vertically is a symptom but key for PSP is falling much earlier than PD and often backwards . Obviously a poor response to Levadopa is another sign. I wish you and you father well on this difficult journey whatever he has.

My husband takes Azilect to make his Sinemet ,(dopamine drug),last longer. It doesn't do much except make him dizzy.

I have been on Azilect for about two years. Azilect is very expensive; but, I have to say it is worth the cost. I also take Sinemet and Mirapex. Since I have been on this cocktail, I have done well. I have my life back.

It took a while; but, over time, I started to resemble the person I was before I was diagnosed with Parkinsons. I was able to write a check, sign my name, open jars, bake, button my own blouse, cut my steak. In other words I am complete again. I am very lucky I don't have a compulsive personality. The drugs have been a blessing for me. We are all different. But I have to say the cocktail of drugs have worked for me. I would at least give it a go. You can always stop. If you do try it, be sure to give it time to work. Best wishes! Be well! Karen

Yes, I take carbidopa-Levodopa 25-100 three times a day, Pramipexole 1MG three times a day, and 1Mg Rasagline every morning. I take the generic for Mirapex and Azilect. This combination has worked well for me. I hope it works as well for you. Be well! Karen
