Research breakthrough in Mexico! Mexico team makes progress in Parkinson’s treatment

This article was published in 2015. Mexican researchers developed a dopamine patch that is implanted in an individuals brain. The dopamine patch has helped PD sufferers recover to 85% of their capacity. Has anyone heard of this? Why aren't we hearing about something like this?

It's brain surgery in rats, so by the time it gets to human trials in the US, would be several years, then another 6 or 8 years to complete all human trials, then another few years for FDA approval. There are therapies further along in the pipeline.
