Cervical neck issues

I'm wondering if a lot of people with PD also have cervical neck issues. Perhaps the misalignment of the vertebrae strangle the blood flow to the brain stem?

Hi! I just started seeing a NUCCA chiropractor a couple of weeks ago. My neck was off by 2”/lost the curve and one leg was an inch shorter than the other. Not sure how it will affect the PD symptoms, but so far I haven’t needed magnesium for bathroom regularity, my little finger isn’t getting stuck and this morning I was able to stir my coffee. My intention was to see if I could fix back pain. No more Aleve and I am functional except for first thing in the morning. So far, so good ... Wishing you all the best!

You may be on to something, I have cervical damage in the c3/4 and c5/6 with bone spurs. I feel like some days no blood is getting up there😟

I have narrowing of the spinal column at C3/C4. Discovered as part of initial investigations. I never asked why the specialist ordered the scans.

I've started lying on the bed with my head hanging over the edge. That seems to restore the natural curve of the neck and promote bloodflow. I'm hoping that helps!

Yes it could be dropped head syndrome or another pd problem like that. Ask neuro.

I have a history of C6-7 herniation. I just ordered the Bruder medibead king heat pad (bruder.com). If you fold it twice, it is a perfect roll to fit under your neck when laying down (no pillow under head, pillow/roll under knees). The heat helps to bring blood flow and the roll stretches your neck back into the natural cervical curve. My massage therapist uses it to warm up my neck before massage, and I realized it felt great and gave me a stretch at the same time. I do believe the neck alignment is a huge part of some symptoms. Dr. John Bergman has an excellent video on this very topic of neck alignment and symptoms in PD. ru-clip.com/video/rNDYRp4YB... (PD talk starts at 8:40, keep watching up to 18:00)

Yes visiting an awesome Korean therapy team for cervical radiculopathy right now. I Had it for about a month and a half now but it has gone from intolerable pain a ten to an almost nothing there from proper treatment. Deep tissue massage, acupuncture, tens, neck decompression on a machine and all day chin tuck exercises plus a towel rolled up behind neck to sleep and virtually flat pillow. PD symptom for sure.
