Hi. I am taking Zoloft. 12 mg. It’s my second day

Will I get worse before I get better?

If so how worse?

Thank you

Dorothy

Work with your doctor to determine the amount appropriate for you. It usually takes a month to evaluate the effectiveness of the medication level needed. My pwp takes a morning Zoloft and night and Wellbutrin(bupropion is the generic name he takes) morning and evening also. This combination works very well for him. If you take bupropion ask your pharmacist to ensure it is manufactured by a well respected company. Some have active ingredient inconsistencies that cause problems for the patient. This is common knowledge and your pharmacist should be able to get a good generic in if this medication is needed.

My husband had his meds evolve over a lengthy period of time. Be careful and have a good doctor work with you on your medication needs.

Hi Dorothy -- On anti-depressants, I have never gotten worse before getting better when I started them. It has just taken a while (weeks) to feel the full effect, so you need to be patient and let your doctor know if you are feeling worse, which could mean that Zoloft isn't the right med for you and you'd need to try something else. Be kind to yourself and trust that things will get better...

Many years ago took zoloft. The started me out on 50mg and it was too much for me. I had worse anxiety than before. It was cut down to 25 and I did fine. I noticed the first few days were worse but it did get better. Hope this helps.
