Hi. I take semenit 5 times a day. How long to wait before I eat protein

I usually wait at least an hour after sinemet to eat. For me food really effects how well me meds work. I try to take it 2 hrs after eating also when possible.

I'm probably going to get bashed for saying this but I don't pay attention at all to eating or not eating in conjunction with my pills. It seems I'm always eating something and I'm always taking pills. I also take 5 a day....5am, 9am, 1pm, 5pm, 9pm.

If it is the normal Sinemet, you should take it about one hour before you eat. If it is the Sinemet CR or controlled release, then it can be taken with or without food, and it makes no difference. Some pharmacists provide written instructions that contradict the manufacturer's instructions or research, because they have their own ideas. With the Sinemet CR, I have no problem with dairy or protein at any time. If in doubt, look at the manufacturer's website.

My MDS told me half an hour minimum before a meal up to an hour OR an hour after a meal. All my meals include some form of protein although it’s often a vegetarian option such as beans, nuts or seeds. If I forget to take the Sinemet before a meal I take an hour after. The first dose is taken before I get out of bed, because I feel terrible then, but incrementally better as I waddle around doing morning routines.
