As I have written here I fell quite badly just over two months ago and broke my arm. I was racing with my grandson...he gets to win from now on. The question I have is that prior to the fall I was taking three or four 25/100 sinemet a day. Since falling I am taking five to six. Has anybody else experienced this and if so did their med need go back to what it had been before injury.
I did a good short hike earlier in the week and it seemed like after that for at least the rest of that afternoon the meds worked better.

I have had the same experience, Enidah. Fell during a hike, broke part of my hip (ischio pelvic arch). And it is as if the disease had used my weakness during the last three month to develop.
I now go to the gym again, hoping that I will be able to recover.
Xenos, I am sorry to hear about your experience! I am walking more and hoping to get back on my bike in the next two weeks or so. I'll let you know if I can reduce my Med use again. I hope so!
I am strongly of the opinion that walking, as fast as you can, definitely helps the brain to repair damaged brain cells. If I am correct, which in y case is true, then eventually, if more brain cells get repaired or replaced you should be able to reduce your medication.
I came off my eldepryl, which is very different to levodopa, after eight years of walking. That was in 2002 and I have not been back on it ever since.
I have never been able to run, since I've been diagnosed with PD and severe arthritis, genu varum and childhood polio, so I don't know what that would be like.
