Was dx June 2016. Now on l/c 3x 100mg. I have been very fatigued lately, especially after exercise. I jogged 3kms yesterday in 20 minutes and felt knackered the rest of the day, I slept twice. Any suggestions to overcome fatigue?

Fatigue
"Malic acid, bound to magnesium to form magnesium malate, is an intermediary in the Krebs cycle and involved in energy metabolism. Dr Gee Abraham first hypothesised that fibromyalgia syndrome may be due to a defect in cellular metabolism characterised by low ATP production (leading to the characteristic symptoms of fatigue) and a build up of organic acids (explaining the diffuse muscle pain). Supplementation with magnesium malate – to provide magnesium for acetyl-CoA synthesis and malic acid for malate dehydrogenase activity – may be able to improve energy metabolism and relieve fibromyalgia, he theorized.
In an open label study to test this hypothesis Abraham et al (1992) reported that oral treatment with magnesium malate (300-600 mg magnesium and 1200-2400 mg malate daily) for 8 weeks improved fibromyalgia pain (16)."
Malfunctioning mitochondria (the core of the body's ATP/energy production) is typical of PD and certain other neurodegenerative conditions. A good outline of the matter with nutritional recommendations: lifeextension.com/Magazine/...
Yes, currently using Jarrow Formulas PQQ 20mg with Jarrow 'QH-Absorb' (CoQ-10/Ubiquinol, 100mg). As studies suggest a certain synergistic advantage to combining PQQ with CoQ-10, there are various options to choose from. Since I take a collection of supplements, I can't definitively confirm PQQ's benefits but I remain active and strongly believe such supplements to be key.
Hi Ozie.....Fatigue is a big part of Parkinson's. I suffer from it 'big league' to use a common phrase these days. I have to limit myself to doing things in about 20 minute segments resting in between usually for at least an hour. My Neuro said that chronic fatigue is the #1 reason that people with Parkinson's retire early or go on disability. The sinemet will not help the fatigue either. It can help with most all the other symptoms but it doesn't seem to effect fatigue. That's why I have so much trouble understanding how so many people with Parkinson's have extensive exercise programs going. I can't do it and I don't want to hear any more coaxing me to try. I do what I can.
I'm not sure there is much benefit in jogging as an excercise for PD. Fast walking / cycling would be better. Also move to maintain joint extension.
