Besides having PD I am a recovering alcoholic. Therefor it's important I ingest no alcohol.

Mannitol is described as a sugar alcohol. Does this man I should avoid it?

A related question: I take Madopar which I just noticed contains Mannitol. Should I lower my dose of Mannitol to compensate for this?

There isn't any alcohol in mannitol. It's sold as a food product. You'll be fine.

Do you think alcohol had an effect on your PD?

I don't know - alcohol could've had an effect, but I also had head trauma and my grandmother had PD.
