Someone asked what I spoke about. There are lots of potential treatments for PD in the pipeline. It is important that we are physically ready to take advantage of them when they are available to us. As this was a conference promoting various types of exercise, I talked about what happened when I was diagnosed in 2008 and the effects that fast paced cycling has had on my PD. I showed my video and spoke about the Stanford Plasma Study.

Let me know if you're coming to Seattle.

What were some of the symptoms you feel you had years before diagnosis? I've always felt my husband had PD before diagnosis because he use to stare.

Hi Idofotos,

I too was diagnosed in Nov. of last year, but I know I've had symptoms for years. Very interesting about the lady from Perth. I hope we hear more about that in the future.

I have spoken with the director of one Seattle Foundations. that funded some of the research and training of the dogs. They can smell a person with Parkinson's. I am not sure how that would help because most people would not go to a dog and get sniffed if they did not have any symptoms.

I think the dog could be use full at nursing homes where a patient cant always understand what is hurting and whether its just old age or really a problem, I saw medical people who never even mentioned PD when I had tremors in my arms & hands and jaws . Your right about people not wanting to go see a dog for medical advice but if they had some symptoms they might

Besides the talented dog, any PD revelations of interest at the conference?

Please share any info about the glutathione trials....!

Interesting, but rather than be sniffed by a dog, I would encourage people who are experiencing symptoms to seek out a well trained neurologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of PD.

I think that dogs that can identify those people with Parkinsons are a significant advance. I've heard of this before. If certain people have the ability to smell and identify people who have parkinsons, then its a sure bet that your average dog has the ability to smell Parkinsons... and it's only a matter of training to enable a dog to identify Parkinsons people. Question is, where does one go to train one's dog ?

Just imagine the benefit to people that this very rapid identification of PD folks would be.
