PD and incubation periods

A quick search the on Internet revels little or nothing on this topic, with some indication there are those who think that an incubation period in relation Parkinson's doesn't even exist.

Does anyone have any thoughts on, or sources related to, this issue?

One of the reasons I asked the question was in connection with the idea of filing a USA federal disability claim for contracting a neurological condition -as you noted- more than a decade after completing service in the US Peace Corps. My service was in a war zone in Sri Lanka and i think there is some evidence I was exposed to chlordane or ddt. These bureaucracies just don't "get," or refuse to accept, the concept that conditions like PD aren't the same as accidents on the job or sexual assault. No doctor anywhere is going to certify that getting a neurological condition can be traced to a specific incident, time or place. You get laughed out of the room if you make the point that the timelines they mandate for making claims are ridiculous.

My husband was accidentally doused with 2-4-D at 20. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer at 64 /Urologist blamed 24D as likely trigger. Then with Parkinson’s at 66 /Neuro suggested 24D triggered.

Researchers found that among men exposed to pesticides such as DDT, carriers of the gene variants were three and a half times more likely to develop Parkinson's than those with the normal version of the gene.Jun 14, 2010

Organochlorines, consisting mostly of chlordane and DDT in our data, have been biologically linked to PD, as brains from PD patients were found to contain higher levels of organochlorine chemicals (notably dieldrin) than brains from control subjects [27, 28].Mar 28, 2008
