The toes on my feet curl under. They have felt wooden for a very long time. Having sufficient level of magnesium in your body helps also I put a few drops of essential oil, on my toes comma I use lavender a lot of times it seems to help with the uncomfortable feeling.

Dr. Bernstein the diabetic expert recommends using DMSO and a few drops of lavender oil in it for nerve pain and other conditions that you get from diabetes.

Each Parkinson patient has experienced different results taking Sinemet, here is mine recently with great results eliminating freezing and reducing Dystonia in the morning :

Diagnosed 5 years ago by a Dr Neurologist, second opinion by a Movement Disorder Neurologist , even though resisting taking medication, I got convinced by Drs and family members that it would improve quality of life! I started then Sinemet and it was increased to 8 a days as PD progressed but it never removed all disorders!

For my first time, I have participated in a Clinical Research “Neurodegeneration and Brain Function in Aging with Parkinson Disease” . On 8/18 an MRI was taken while OFF medications since 6 pm the day before - 1st time on No medication since diagnostic - in the morning I had many times Dystonia, freezing, needed my husband help for me to get ready...To our astonishment after noon I was able to get off the car by myself and then to walk on to the registration desk , perform many movement tests, take the bus, first golf cart ride , MRI etc ...with no problems , was fine and surprised from the positive result !!

Soo I since have been seen by my Neurologist and we agreed to reduced Sinemet gradually, I am now on 4 a day every 4 hours and feeling much better, no freezing in the morning, very little feet Dystonia!!! I still have Parkinson, I feel it every days, my left arm does not swing, slow movement, stiffness, problems with coordination, rhythmic muscle contractions, slow bodily movement, fatigue, anxiety or apathy, facial expression, blank stare, constipation, neck tightness, small handwriting, unintentional weight loss etc....

I always consult my doctor for medical advice. I attend many conferences, support groups, summits, webinars, read books, newsletters, and blogs to instruct myself.

EXERCISES is my theory : weekly 5 hrs regular walk + 2 hrs Yoga class + 3 hrs exercises for PD class + I have started to follow John’s advice I am on 3 x 10 minutes fast walk a week !!! Here is his web link :

I never had dystonia until I started on Sinemet. After seven weeks, my doctor told me to quit Sinemet entirely. She said if it was going to have any positive effect it would have done so within that time.

Taking the right meds in the right doses is essential - "right" meaning - what works best for you.

That said, I do yoga very first thing when I get up in the morning with special attention to any tight places.
