Anyone taking Rytary and C/L? When do you take the Rytary, with or sometime after?
Rytary with C/L: Anyone taking Rytary and C... - Cure Parkinson's
Rytary with C/L
Rytary is C/L only time release why take both?
I tried rytary, but could never get the dosing to feel right. I prefer the c/l because if i eat i can take it a little earlier and stay [on] with rytary i wiuld go [off] sooner after eating and coukd be [off] for 2-3 hrs anyone else have this issue or have solved it?
I take c/l upon rising 5 am, Rytary 1.5 hrs later 6:30 am, c/l 11 am, Rytary 11:30 am, c/l 2:30 pm, c/l 5 pm, Rytary 7:30 pm. This works for me. I have noticed that since I started this regime, my system is sensitive to sugar and too many simple carbs. So long as I watch what I eat, I am okay. That is not to say that every day is the same... some days nothing seems to work. Hope this helps.
Your collective comments on Rytary are interesting as my husband began Rytary 4 months ago, and has quickly regressed to serious end stage symptoms. The neurologist says Rytary is c/l in a capsule that slowly releases the dose and no difference in the c/l properties. She does not believe going back on senemet instead would make any difference. Your thoughts, please.
Everyone is different, of course, and whatever you do, please find a doctor to help you. What would I do? I was diagnosed in 2002 and have found that sometimes you have to take these things in hand and exert some control over your own (or your husband's) body. After 4 months on Rytary combined with Sinemet (the Rytary just wasn't enough by itself) I was having extreme fatigue. I talked to the company that makes Rytary, I talked to my neuro, and I did a lot of research. I decided to completely withdraw from Rytary slowly. I was still taking Sinemet, but it was a hard 7 days. Then I added the Rytary back very slowly until I could function. Because Rytary is still so new, no one (docs, big pharma, my pharmacist) really knows how this is going to impact your body. I am doing pretty darn good on the combined sinemet/Rytary regime. I have been through four neuros before my current doc, who is ok, but has a lot of patients, so I get some help, but not a lot. Let's face it, no one really knows much about Parkinsons, so I figure I must be at least as informed as the "experts". I watch my body's chemistry like a hawk. How is the Park body affected by sugar, too many simple carbs, a bad night's sleep, and the worst enemy of all - stress. And of course, I have to say that your husband quick regression could just be how his Parkinsons has decided to change. BUT - you have to be his mentor and demand what you think might work. Give the Sinemet a try - ask the doc to help you do that. If he says no, maybe he needs to be replaced. If I can help further, let me know. Annie
