It will be great for those that feel that its medical use might help them. Open door for more scientists too. Common sense.

Yeah, Bernie promises something for every malleable mind across the USA: free college education for all, free healthcare for all (including non-citizens), free food, free phones, legalization of anything and everything - you want it? Just ask and Bernie will deliver it!
Judging from those that show at his rallies, however, (note your pic and other news reports) his constituency doesn't include very many scientists or intellectuals - just people who want something for nothing.
Sane, thinking people with an intellect slightly above that of a common housefly realize a country with a national debt in excess of 18 trillion can't open its borders and provide the universal 'free lunch' this buffoon dangles before their eyes.

Yeap I do not agree either on free on everything for everyone. But I do not agree either on the contrary. At the end of the day we are all humans. There is always a middle point.
Going back to the subject. Decriminalizing Cannabis will be a huge step for one of the the world’s most misunderstood plant (on purpose by the way).
It could be a huge support (I can not say cure since cure it is a serious word) for a lot of Parkinson's patients, other disease and their families.
If someone wants to know more about Dr. Mechoulam, cannabis, health, body, endocannabinoid system, THC...
“The Scientist” is a documentary that traces the story of Nobel prize nominee Dr Mechoulam from his early days......as a child of the Holocaust in Bulgaria, through his immigration to Israel, and his career as the chief investigator into the chemistry and biology of the world’s most misunderstood plant. Dr. Mechoulam ascertained that THC interacts with the largest receptor system in the human body, the endocannabinoid system (ECS)."

Besides its widespread recreational use, cannabis certainly has valuable medicinal applications. Those strains and chemical derivatives with proven benefits (eg. Charlotte's Web, CBD, etc.) should of course be made readily available to those who need them, while others showing potential should continue to be studied.
Whether he gets 1 or 2 of his countless promises right or not, Bernie's countless shortcomings could never justify the serious consideration of such an eccentric curmudgeon to lead anything beyond the scope of a geriatric social club.
Unfortunately, the official end of the 'cannabis prohibition' will need to await the election of another, less quirky, more intellectually sound leader.
