I think we all have dogs that we care for very much. This has also been in the news a little while ago. Interesting article,

I am considering making my dogs food but i want to okay it with the vet because i know there are certain nutrition factors for dogs and i know they arent supposed to only eat homemade foods there are some nutritional additives that need to be added. My dogs are everything to me and i want them to be healthy and here for a long time♥Dog food is really garbage and it doesnt have to be regulated by the FDA like human food so they can put anything in it and nobody cares.

Amazon has some neat books on making your own dog food. I know the situation is awful.

Awesome TY! i will look to see what they have and yes it is horrible that they dont care what goes into our dogs food :(

Thank you for this. We love our dog more than life itself. We make our own dog food, too, although she also gets dry food -- Blue Buffalo which is on the list.

PS. I'm not quite ready to give up our Blue Buffalo over this article because it is an association, not causal and the percent of dogs affected is tiny.

I wish the article had further explored what's in the grains that's causing the problems...most non organic grains are GMO, i wonder if that could be the culprit.

Thank you so much for posting. The top suspected brand is what we have been feeding our wonderful dog for two years... it was recommended by the breeder!

I will definitely look into this as the poor thing has been through so much already: a few days ago, she was attacked by a large dog. The vet told us they most likely will have to remove one eye. We are waiting for follow up on Friday.

I am so sorry about your dog. That is just awful. Thank goodness that the dogs are very resilient. They are so adaptable. My husband and I are we always ended up with three dogs, of course different dogs at different times because they all pass on. I still remember all my dogs and I miss some of them way more than others however I loved them all the same.

Thank you.

I don't know if this is going to work, but here is an attempt to join a picture before and after the attack:

It didn’t work... anyone can explain how to join a picture to this post?

Hi, I think you're going to have to hit the WRITE button, and then you will be given a choice of attaching a photo it's going to be on the bottom all the message.

Ha! I see. I won't create a new post just for that... thanks for the explanation though.

I tried to write a new post but I could only join one photo. I also tried to private message you but I can't join photos in there. If you want to private message me your email address, I will send you the before and after pictures of my lovely little Charlotte! Of course, if someone knows how to post 2 photos, please explain.
